Behind the Lense

I got my new camera yesterday! It's so great! It's a Nikon S8000, with 14 megapixels, and 10x zoom, and it also came with an external flash, that freaks everyone out for some reason.

I'm still messing around with how to use it. It's a bit confusing trying to figure out with setting to leave it on.

And i believe this is portrait along with the external flash. So far I love the camera, but I still need to get used to it all, as I've said before.

Habits

One thing that I cannot stand doing is homework on the weekends. I know I need to get it done, but come on it's the weekend for crying out loud! I also have this insane habit of biting my nails. I've been biting them for as long as i can remember. As a result I now have little nubbies for fingernails.

Update

Things have been going greatly! I've been getting all of my assignments done a day or two before they're due, and I have a lot of free time in which I'm trying to find ways of trying to create more things for my clothing store Petrichor! I'm trying to get rid of some clothes so i'm probably going to start a My Closet sort of thing for my store! My camera comes in on Monday and I'm so excited:3 I'm going to make a camera case for it so I'll probably do a d.i.y. Camera Case post! Anyway got to go!

Avah Janett

Today my cousin Avah came into the world! She has the chubbiest cheeks, and looks just like her mother:) I'm sad I couldn't be there for the occasion but happy that when I do get to meet her, she'll be a lot more active than she is now. My mother said she has turquoise eyes. I personally cannot wait to see what color of eyes she's going to have since her mother has beautiful green eyes. I love you Avah Janett:)

A New Sprint, A New Beginning

So Thursday started my 3 day break from school, and things have been nothing but funfunfun since then. I had an upset stomach from Thursday night, till around Saturday morning which wasn't very great, but luckily I've overcome that obstacle and I feel so much better now!
 On Saturday I went camping with my boyfriend and some students from our school, at a Hot Springs. I enjoyed it so much, it was such a great way to get away and relax a bit. I had a lot of fun and ate a lot of delicious food. I now have a newfound love for pineapples! I had never liked them before but they're so delicious to me now, it's weird. I had a horrible night sleeping Saturday though. The tent was so uncomfortable and it was freezing, so I kept waking up every hour or so looking for my boyfriend to keep me warm. I woke up sore and cranky, just wanting to go home. We got back to our apartment at around 1, only to be busy on a day that my boyfriend and I just wanted to relax, since we had spent a horrible night in a tent.
Today is also half a year of my boyfriend and I being together. But as silly gifts to each other we  ended up buying each other food. I bought him KFC, and he bought me a delicious milkshake at Fuddrucker's.

They're milkshakes are so delicious, I haven't had one since my summer home last year.
As said before we ended up having a meeting for a club that we're trying to start at school. It was decided that I be the representative for that club, for our Unified Student Government once the club gets going. I'm really happy about that decision, because I had recently decided that I'd start getting involved in school activities more. My boyfriend and I want to be elected as Students of the Quarter, because we think it'd be silly to be the first couple that has received it. It would also look good on a resume, once I start job hunting and it'll keep my student advisor off my back, since her and I don't get along too well.
Hmm anyway that's a quick catchup on my life thus far!

First Sprint Over!

I've passed both of my classes with -B's! Not the grades I would've liked but I'm really glad I passed them both! Next sprint should be so much fun:D I have classes from 10-11:50 have a 5 hour break in between them, and then another class from 5-6:30! So happy about that:3 It'll give me a lot of time on a project that I'm working on with my boyfriend and two of our roommates. My body is insanely sore right now, and I'm not all that hungry:( I also need to shower, but I'm too lazy to shower right now. I'm going to a friend's birthday party later on today, and then tomorrow and Sunday, my boyfriend and I are going on a Hot Spring's trip. I hope it's really nice. I also got my monthly check today! So I bought myself a camera, something I've been meaning to do for a couple of months now. I don't have anything to buy other than that so I should have a good amount of money until June!

An Intro to Myself

My name is Dakotah. I originate from Texas but I'm spending the next 2.5 years in Utah for college! I'm 18 years old and turn 19 in August. I'm majoring in Computer Science and I'm hoping to expert in Web Design. I love watching movies! I watch at least 3 a day, it's a really bad habit. I'm currently in my 3rd out of 10 quarters of college. I'm not the smartest person in the world, but I'm not dumb either. I really enjoy making my own t-shirts and have my own clothing brand Petrichor Clothing. I really like to draw as well, even if I don't have everything I need to draw all the time, I still like to sketch little things. I have an amazing boyfriend who I've been dating for around 6 months now. We met in weird circumstances but everything worked out in the end and I'm happier than I've ever been in my life thus far.
